Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and 陳怡如, an individual trading as Cindyenglishlabspace ("we"), who runs Echo Away. By using Echo Away you agree to them. Questions: cindy@cindyenglishlabspace.com.

The service

Echo Away is an English shadowing tool: you listen to a native speaker, record yourself and compare the two. The match score is an automatic estimate of timing and rhythm. It does not judge whether you said the right words, and it is not a formal assessment.

Your account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity on your account. Use Echo Away for your own personal learning, and don't try to copy, resell or disrupt the service or its content.

Free topics, trial and subscription

• The first topic in each level is free.
• The full plan starts with a 7-day free trial. A card is needed, but nothing is charged during the trial.
• After the trial, the plan costs US$3 per month (NT$100 per month in Taiwan) (plus any tax shown at checkout) and renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• Cancel any time from the Pricing page. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• We'll tell you in advance before any price change, and it only applies from your next billing period.

Payments through Paddle

Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles customer service questions about payments and processes refunds. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

Content

The clips, transcripts and app design belong to us or our licensors. Your recordings are yours and stay on your device.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Echo Away running, but it is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Ending your use

You can stop using Echo Away and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without taking away any consumer protections of the country you live in.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let you know in the app before they take effect.
